In the Spaces Between

“In the Spaces Between” investigates uncertainty of the self as a generative condition through stop-motion and match-cut visual practices. By juxtaposing shifting locations and everyday moments, the project becomes a blank canvas to its surroundings. Cut-out paper dolls function as reconfigurable representations of the self through a two dimensional form, articulating identity as fluid and context-dependent. The work positions ambiguity and silence as reflective spaces for contemplating belonging within fragmented contemporary experiences.

Filmed from Japan, Yokohama throughout flight back to Indonesia Jakarta and back again.
